OK, so you might have thought that I've dropped off the face of the earth, but know that I'm still here, and I am back from traveling for a while. The tutorial I was going to post this morning sadly I was having too much fun coloring and I totally forgot to stop and scan in the steps, so I have to re-do it for the weekend, but it will be worth the wait.
Meanwhile, to celebrate that I'm back in town for a bit I want to offer a prize. Please leave a comment on this post stating:
1. How do you use copics
2. Why do you like them?
or, if you don't use Copics,
1. Why do you want to try them out? What are the things that you've heard about them that makes them sound so great?
I will randomly choose a winner on Monday at Noon. One winner will receive a free Sketch Set, a value of over $70!! (Actual set may vary from photo) Please make sure you leave a valid e-mail address for me to contact you at. Contest open only to North America.
Thanks for leaving a comment, and good luck winning!

«Oldest ‹Older 401 – 493 of 493Welcome back! What a fabulous prize!! I have loved the "normal" coloring and shading with my Copics, but since taking Colleen's class online I am seeing just how much more I can learn!!! LOL I just love the fact that they can blend so well and that I can go back to an image long after it's dried and re-work it!!!
OMG...LOVE LOVE LOVE COPICS...I use all my markers but ofcourse would like to have more..I use them for just about everything I color..I practice ALL the time . I love the shading that can be done and just the way they color and make images look better then using anything else! Thanks for the chance to win!

I have never used the copic markers. I have been scared to use them, but I have seen some really neat Tildas colored with them. After seeing what you have done using them, I want to try them out. Hopefully I can learn to do well by continuing to watch your blog.
The only copic markers I've tried are the ciao because I bought a few when they were on sale online. We don't have any local store to view the colors more in detail. I use them on every card that I can (when it calls for red and green as these are the only colors I have) I love the ones that I do have. My favorite thing about them is that they blend without peeling my paper. And I love the rich colors also. Welcome back. My email is heygorgeous3@aol.com
I use them to color stamped images. I love them for the solid color and blending - fantastic!
Welcome back! I used to be hooked on Prismas and Gamsol but once I tried Copics, I haven't pulled out the prismas! I love Copics because they blend so well. I have a small amount of them but I hope to build my stash soon!
Hey there Marianne,
I found your blog though looking up copic markers! I have not tried Copic markers yet, heck, I just bought my first set of prismacolors at an art and crafts store very far from where I live, and using them really wowed me haha. I can imagine that copic would bring my work to a whole another level. I have been doing a lot of life drawings, and much recently the coloring. My family, and friends have been very supportive of my drawings. They're impressed by the apples I drew with my first prismacolor haha. Copic markers are great, because they have a replaceable nib, they very blendable, also they are refillable. So, even though they are expensive. Copic is a great life long investment.
So anyways, thank you for your great site, and your tutorials!
Thank you very much for this opputunity!

Would love to win some additional markers. judy bliss - jabliss@nuvox.net
I love my Copics because they are so versatile. I use them for colouring images for cards but also for dyeing ribbon, colouring buttons etc. I can wait to get an airbrush system!
I'm so new to copics, but I love them already. I'm learning how to se them to color my stamped images, but I need a lot of practice still.
Thank you.
I would love it if a Copic workshop could be held in the St. Louis, MO area! I am very curious about Copic markers because I've heard over and over that they are easily refillable, beautifully blendable, and brilliantly yield vividly colored art projects of all sorts!

Welcome back! I am looking forward to the certification class in Indiana at the end of the month...
Hi Marianne,
I use Copics mostly for paper crafting - greeting cards and scrapbooking. I also like to use them on fabrics. I just placed an order for some more cool grays - can't have too many. :o) Thank you for the opportunity to win.
Take care and STAY POSITIVE!
Hi there,
I have purchased a few copics but I haven't yet had the courage to use them. I love the colour range and I love the results I have seen on several blogs and in magazines. Can't wait to read some of your tutorials and try them out.

Welcome Back! I don't own any Copic Markers (yet). They are on my wish list.
Hello Marianne! I love my Copic markers because I can add tons of color and depth to my images. They blend so beautifully and with over 300 colors the possibilities are endless. I also always have a wish list. Shopping is so much fun. Thanks for offering up such a wonderful prize.
I love Copic markers because we can refill them and replace the tips! This means my children can also use them and I don't have to worry about them being ruined. I love how they blend as well!
Welcome back! Thanks for offering up this prize. I mainly use my Copics for colouring in stamped images, but would like to play around with some of my own original artwork. There are some fabulously talented Copic artists out there! I love the blending abilities of these markers...just amazing! Looking forward to your new tutorials!
Melanie
I LOVE Copic Markers! I use them to color images on my cards. The reason that I like them is because the colored part is smooth and not blotchy.
Hello Marianne~ Welcome back to blogland! :) I use my copics for coloring my stamped images and I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE them because they blend so well and because of all the different hues of the markers you can find a marker to match any type of paper! Yes, I am a total Copic Addict! lol! Thanks so much for the chance to win some markers!!!
Hugs~ Kim
I've got some of the Copic Ciao markers and have been loving using them to color my handmade cards. Your blog is just great - I have really been enjoying following along with your tutorials.

I love my Copics. I have been using them for illustrations, simply coloring the art. I'm slowly learning them and have a limited range of hues. I hope to get up to skill levels I've seen other artists at.
I like them because they go on so well, thanks to the Sketch's brush and square nibs. I also like how they don't smell all that strongly. The range of colors and the ability to mix them to create custom colors is something else I like. Lastly, they can be cost efficient over the long term, what with the refills and replaceable nibs.

I use my Copics to color stamped images. I love them because I can blend and shade and shadow like I know what I'm doing, even though I have never taken an art class.
I use Copics to color images for card making. I love them because, once you get the hang of them, they are so quick and easy to use compared to other mediums... plus who can forget the "magic juice" that helps fix mistakes!
Welcome back! I have a few Copics in my collection and I really love using them on my cards! I need a lot more practice to get my cards to look like the "pros" but I gotta admit, it's fun practicing! I think what I love most about them are the outstanding results you can get with them.
Thank you for the chance to win!
Renee (happystamper05atyahoodotcom)
Oooh Copics!! My latest obsession. I am drawn to the vividness of the colors that others achieve in their stamped images. To me, a copic-colored image on a card is so pretty!
Thanks!
Abby (optimismseeker@aol.com)
I've been looking at some beautifully colored cards, and many of the artists use Copics to color their images. I am most defintely interested in trying them out to see what I can do with them.
Welcome back Marianne. I must admit I've missed your tutorials. I'm a cardmaker and even though I only have the Sketch colorless blender (which I use with my approx 75 prismacolor markers), I've got a huge Sketch marker wishlist for Christmas. I love how the coloring can be layered and layered and not pill the cardstock! Thanks so much for a chance to win the Sketch marker set.

Thanks for the BIG candy!

Hello!
I have started very slowly acquiring these lovely Copics-I have 11 and a few of the spica pens! They are wonderful! I'd like to think I have some talent, but with Copics I feel I have a little more LOL! They are really worth every penny. I hope to continue to grow my Copic collection and my Copic skills! Thanks for this opportunity...and for a great blog!

Hi Marianne!
Lets see...
1. How do you use copics?
Well... I haven't used my markers lately, due to work and school. But I mainly used them to color in stamped images. I am trying to get my boyfriend's brother into them, he likes to do Graffitti Art.
2. Why do you like them?
I can blend and shade with them. Plus use them as with the air can and spray... can't think of what it is called.
I Love Love Love Copics. I use them on practicly every project I do. I am a card maker so they have pretty much become my everthing.
I would so love to take one of your classes. I just need to get out and travel more, I'm in Idaho.
I use The regular copic as of now but would love to try out the brush tips :)
Thank you for the chance,
Shell
I love my copic markers. I have used them on so many different things, charms, flowers, skittles, acrylic, chipboard... I also colored a onesie for a friend with my copics.
Why do I like them? They are so versatile. I love the color choices, that they are refillable and I also just started using the airbrush system. And that takes my markers to a whole different level!
For the longest time I would look at images that were colored in and could not figure out for the life of me how they did it. These images were so vibrant and there were no lines! I knew they had to be markers and I tried all kinds to no avail, nothing gave me the same pizzazz, then I found out about alcohol markers. I have done a lot of research on the different brands and I have decided that I want to invest in the copic sketch. I have been so overwhelmed with all the different colors that I have no idea were to start because I will only be able to collect a few at a time.
Thanks for this opportunity to start my next passion.

I use COPICs to do illustrations. I love them! The color choices, flow and look of the markers are the best out there. I've tried so many! None are like COPICs! I really want to get more so i can get better using them. Right now I have to combine them with colored pencil to get enough color.
I LOVE Copic markers!!! I haven't had so much fun coloring since I was a kid and got a new box of crayons! I have gotten all my friends hooked on them too!!! Once you try them, there is no turning back!
I only have a few Copic markers. I wanted to try them since I saw your blog. They just seem to blend so well. I am waiting for my local scrapbook store to offer a class. I am just experimenting with them till I get the class. Thanks for the chance to win.
I'm just starting to use copics. I use them for any coloring that I want to be perfect!
I love how they blend!
prarnold@embarqmail.com
Welcome back!
1. I have last weekend got my new Copics, and I love them! I uses the light color and then darkens it with darker ones, but I also uses the blender a lot to highlight.
2. I love them because the tip on the Sketch and that its so many colors, that its the most important thing :)
Have a nice new week!
Hugs from Desiree in Norway
Welcome Back!! I got certified at a class you taught in Orlando, FL. I am now teaching (although still have a LOT to learn) a class at my local scrapbook store. I really enjoy using the markers. I only have the ones that belong to the store...but hope someday to have some of my own! Thanks for the lessons you give on your blogs. The're very helpful! Thanks too for this opportunity to win some markers!
Pam
Thank you for the chance to win these fantastic Copic markers. As of yet, I do not own one single Copic. I have asked every family member for them for Christmas. Santa needs to hurry because I can't wait much longer!
I am slowly expanding my collection of Copics. They are amazing. They blend and don't leave streaks on your images!! I haven't found any classes in my area so I have been folowing your blog and learning as I have a need. Thanks so much for providing such wonderful information.
I love Copics. I use them to color digital images and stamps for cardmaking. I see what others do with them and aspire to be as skilled at using them as they are SOMEDAY!! :)

I love the Copic markers. I use them for card making. I love the way I can blend colors to add dimension. I am slowly adding to my collection. Thank you for the opportunity!
I adore copic markers for a lot of reasons. Primarily I draw better than I paint but have found that markers tend to make my artwork look streaky, but I don't have the necessary hand control to duplicate a smooth color or blend with paints. Copics allow me to layer the color and keep a uniform flow. I like how it sweeps out of the barel and on to the paper, as if it were paint instead of solvent and pigment. I don't get nearly enough time with them and hope with my impending "Employment Reimagning" that I will get more time to play with them between interviews.
I'm red1332 (at) gmail (dot) com. Thanks so much!
Hi Marianne,
Welcome back...I've missed your e-mails and new tutorials. My comment about COPIC markers is this: If you haven't tried them, DON'T buy any other brand, thinking they will be just as good. They are the BEST! I literally have tried all types of markers, including stampin'up, etc. and I tried watercolor pencils, and all types of added mediums to get similar effects. I tried watercolors, too. In short, these markers are worth every penny. I buy a few at a time, based on whatever project I am working on. I hope to have a great collection in a year or so from now. I get about 2-3 a month. Anyway, love your blog and detailed examples.
One of my favorite things to do is to stamp and color an image with COPIC markers, then use a Versamark marker over the entire image, add clear embossing powder, and then heat set. When cool, brayer around/over the image, creating a sunset, or scarey halloween background. The ink won't stick to the image, and any excess can be wiped off.
Thanks again for all you do for us! Please enter me in your drawing, as these are colors I do not own!.... Love, ravishingred
WOW...Awesome Prize!!!
I LOVE my copics...wouldn't go anywhere overnight without them!!
I use them mainly for cards....
The Blending and colors are like no other!!! So Glad I found them.....
Just LOVE them!!
Coloring in my stamped images is no longer a tedious necessity. I haven't had so much fun coloring since I was young!
Hi Marianne, I like it and I play with my stamps and coloring peel off's stickers. They are brightness, ease and speed of use.
Thanks for the BIG candy!
Loraine
Welcome back. I use my Copics to color my staming images. I love the bright vibrant colors they offer. Even when I use colored pencils for a softer effect, I always use my copics to color in skin tones.
I love my slowly growing Copic collection! I use them mainly for coloring stamped images and for drawing my own things. I love the colors and how easy they blend and create effects.
Hi Marianne--I am just finding out about copic markers. I have not tried them yet. I have seen cards colored with them and they are beautiful. I am excited to purchase one or two and try them out. Thank you for the opportunity to win some. Also your instructions for using them are great.
Thanks
Carol
Welcome Back!! I use Copic markers because they are the only ones that I found that blend the way that I want them to. I get amazing results with them and am completely hooked!!! I am even taking the certification at the end of the month with YOU!!! Yah!!! Thanks for the opportunity to win and add to my addiction!!!
I LOVE my Copics. I buy them just a few at a time, mostly the colors I use more often plus a darker and lighter shade near it. I don't buy them unless there is a sale at my local art store $$$. My favorite was the Christmas card I made last year. It had 4 winter chickadee birds in a pine tree. There was a colored image on the front of the stamp's wooden block. I was able to pretty much replicate it. It took forever to make 30 cards but it was worth it in the end. Blending takes a little practice but the trick is not to color too much before you blend. Thanks for the chance to win some more of these fabulous markers.
I LOVE my copics because they give me variety and allow me to just have fun coloring. I especially love blending. I was fortunate to attend a class a couple years back in Chicago land during the summer. I feel lucky to have learned from the best!
1. How do you use copics - to color in stamped images.
2. Why do you like them? - Oh my....because they blend so well, because the colors are so vibrant, lots of colors to choose from, they are so pretty all stacked up in my container....I could go on and on. :)
I LOVE LOVE LOVE my copics. I took the certification class, and I am teaching a class at my store next Saturday. I use my copics for illustration work, and as backgrounds for my paintings. I am teaching a stamping with copics class and I love the way you can make images look beautiful with not much effort.
I also use them to color my scrapbooking supplies.....
I love copics because of their color selection, their versatility (ABS!) and their drying time. They have replaced watercolors for me.
Welcome BACK!
I use the Copic Sketch markers for card making.
I use them because they produce beautiful results and are easier and fast to use to use than other coloring media.
I really like that the copic markers don't leave streaky marks as you color & that they work on all kind of surfaces. The spica glitter pens are the best for adding a bit of bling to anything too!
AShu93@aol.com
I use Copics to color stamped images.
I don't like them, I LOVE them!
the smoothness and blending are my favorite parts, I think.
Mulheronfamily@cox.net
Hello and welcome back! I tend to use Copics exclusively in my coloring of greeting cards images and backgrounds. I like them for their smooth application, blending, and the variety of colors and color groupings that blend and complement each other.
Just getting into them and wish I had more! Love the way you can layer on the color and it does shading!
I just bought a stash of copics to get me started on coloring stamped images because I have heard the ability to blend colors can make an amazing looking image. Searched on google for copic techniques and found your blog and now I can't wait to peruse all your techniques! Thanks for the chance to win too ;)
I still a relative newbie with Copics (less than 6 months) and am in LOVE!! So far I've mostly used them to color stamped images, although I did use it to alter the color of some chipboard letters for another project. They are well worth the investment!
I bought the 36A Ciao set a few months ago and haven't really used them as much as I'd like! So far, I've tried coloring my QuicKutz die cuts, stamps (Hero Arts), and embellishments.
I also really like anime and would love to learn how to color in that style.
Wowie! Sketch markers. I don't own one...I have ciao markers and I love it! I do however want to own some but a bit high for my budget at the moment. Can't wait to find out who is the winner! Good luck to everyone and welcome back I missed you.
I use Copics to color in stamped images. I love that they don't streak, how easy it is to blend with them. I'm addicted to Copics and my collection is slowly growing.
Luanne
I feel like my Copic container is only a "hope chest". I purchased my blending groups but I never seem to find the time to sit down and actually use them. I love all the lessons you produce and I have utilized some of them. Please, keep up the good work.
Cathy
I know the contest to win is over, and that's okay; I'm just posting my comments..... I love coloring with the Copics because they blend and shade so well. I started off with just the Ciaos and thought I wouldn't need any more than those. Hah, who was I kidding? Once I finally got around to really using them and feeling comfortable with them, I had to start having more choices in colors....so then came the Sketches to fill in!!! There is nothing I've ever used that comes close to them, and from what I've learned from your blog over the last year, as well as some other blogs, I wouldn't be without them!!! I would have attended your certification here, but wasn't well at the time, so I'll have to hope you come back. They are my product of choice!!!!
Hello ;)
I use Copic everywhere I can. This is a great alternative to my old prismacolors.
Like them, I LOVE them ;)

Wow, I would love to have these markers. I have always wanted to be an artist. Unfortuanately, I don't have natural talent. Well,my last child finished high school last year and my husband has been transferred to another state while I am home trying to sell a house in this awful economy. I am determined to learn how to color! I now have the time and focus to do something I have always wanted to do. I have been reading blogs, tuturials and videos. These markers look amazing.(I tell my son I am studying). Anyway, sorry for the babbling.
I am excited for the opportunity to win these. I even considered traveling to Grand Rapids, MI as I noticed there is still room in your class! Maybe I am just going off the deep end.......I WILL learn, I promise.
Lori
I LOVE Copics! I use them to color my stamped images all the time. They are worth every penny I have spent on my collection. Most of all, I loved getting certified by you. xx jane
Glad you are back and thanks for sharing your talent and knowledge with us! I have only had my markers for less than a year and have used them to make cards after stamping. I plan on using them on my scrapbook pages also, when I find time to scrapbook again! You site is so helpful to me in so many ways! Thank you.
Welcome back. Thanks for all your wonderful tutorials! I love the few copics I have started in my collection. I use them to color stamped images for cards. I need alot of practice and alot more colors, but just love coloring with them.
I love my Copics. I use them to color my stamped images. I am not an artist but they sure make me look like one. Thank you Marianne and Copics!!!!!!
I use Copics for coloring my stamped images. I love them for the blending. And they feel good in my hand. Let's face it, they're just fun!

I love the copic sketch. I feel the color by themselves! I want the whole collection
I just started using copic markers, and i absolutely love them. the shading is done beautiful I have never seen anything like that.
i am trying to convince every body to use the Copic markers and to take the classes first.
I have read so many good comments about the Copic markers and how good they are with their blending. All the images that I have seen with these markers are great! These markers are on my wish list.
The way I use Copics is with my cards. I have always loved to color and using the Copics you can blend very nicely. Welcome Back!
I'm fairly new to Copic markers. I like to color with my stamp images, pearls, gems. I'm still learning how to use them beautifully like you. You blog certainly teach me quite a lot about Copic.
I have just started playing with Copics and I love the blendability of them. They are awesome! I have only a few right now and would love to add more to my stash. THanks so much for a chance to win! Gina

Hello Marianne
I have a whopping 5 markers that I have just purchased this past week and now I can understand what EVERYONE is so excited about. They are awesome! I have ordered a few more and would have them all....if I had the $$$!
Love your tutorials. I have learned tons of tips, how-to's etc.
Now all I need is more markers!
:) Geri
I've seen some great work done with the Copic markers and I would love the opportunity to learn how to use them.
Thanks for the chance.
Welcome back. I have very few copics but plan to invest in many more in the near future. I use them for card making. Color are so brillant that they allow the object to really look real and even when blending the color the realistic effects are still there. In my crafting, I use them instead of using watercolors and color markers. I really love the copics as they are becoming increasing popular. Thanks for giving us the opportunity to win a set.
